Computer that doesnt turn on

    when i press the on button, the computer starts up for 5 seconds and then turns itself off??? why could this be, does anybody know, is anyone out there? i wonder??? please can you tell me with the hastiest of speed thankyou from a puzzled in Brighton please

    If no warranty issues, take the cover off and see what happens when you flip the power switch. Does the CPU fan go on? How clean is everything? Lots of dust?

    When this happened to me it was because of a bad motherboard. One of the internal metal fibers was broken.

    Has anyone been inside your computer lately? Have you done any work on the motherboard lately?

    If so, you probably need a new motherboard. :(
