I have a P3 running windows xp pro which turns itself on in the middle of the night! Any ideas how to stop this? Someone has said it might be a virus?

My computer keeps turning itself on all by itself

Usually this means that the BIOS is set to "wake on LAN" or "wake on modem."

Tell it to stop or it may go blind or grow hair in unwanted places. Are you sure it is powering on or just starting up from hibernate mode? Most newer PC's do not power off unless you go to start > shutdown. If the BIOS isn't configured properly it will still go into hibernate mode.
