I am trying to fix a friends Dell studio computer. When i got the computer i tried turning it on but, all i got was a blank screen. It seems like it will not boot. I had the keyboard and mouse plugged in but when i started it i got 2 beeps. I unplugged them and nothing. I have removed the memory and everything seems to be ok with them. I have also removed the cmos battery and jumper but still cannot get the computer to boot. Can anyone please help.

What the beeps mean depends on whether the CMOS chip is Phoenix, AMI, Award or IBM. Take the side cover off and have a look at the name on the chip and then check out the page below.

If you have any problems or are not sure what you`re looking at, post again and I`m sure some helpful soul will come to your aid.
