I have "volenteered" to help a friend with their computer. They had numerous viruses, trojans, spyware, etc. The symptoms were that the computer just stopped working. There were a number of things launching and locking up the regular boot up process.

In safe mode I ran spybot, symantec and a couple other things to get it going. Then in regular mode downloaded the latest updates of both and ran again. This removed about 320 things. It noted that it had peopleonpage, intexp.d, and sdwin32.websearch24 trojans. They don't show in the spybot search any longer.

I still have a problem with the display - I change it to 800x600 or higher and it requires me to reboot and then stays at 600x400. annoying.

My question is, did I get the virus/trojans out and if so why won't the display stay? Here is the HJT log. Thanks
