Computer won't come on after re-start

    Hello everyone,
    When I am ojn my computer & restart it, it flashes all of the regular stuff,but when windows get ready to go, all I get is a black screen,any help would be Appreciated.Iam runing Windows Xp Home edition....

    Hello everyone,
    I dont know were my post got over looked or what, but my problem still there,when I re boot my computerit goes to the stages,When it displays the windows Xp logo, it then wants to go to the regular screen, but it freezes inbetween the windows logo & the regular screen, all I get is a black screen...can someone help me in this matter please,all would be Appreciated....

    Howdy,

    Try this first if you haven't already

    Re start your PC and immediately on startup start tapping F8 about every second before the window screens and you should see a black screen with white writing....use your arrow keys to select Last Known Good Configuration and press Enter

    I done as you suggested & have re booted my computer 3 times, so far so good,if this problem reoccurs, I surely will be asking for more help, until then many Thanks for your time & help..
