When I hit the sleep button on my computer it will power down like it is going to sleep mode but then immediately powers back up.

    Whats up?

    Do you mean Hibernate?

If so make sure your Motherboard is set to S1 Pos not S3 (STR) after entering SETUP during Boot Up.

Also, run an elevated Command Prompt and type powercfg –h ON

This is assuming Hibernate is enabled in your Power Options.

This happens alot and many times it is related to the wireless card.Try turning it off beforehand to see.
If that doesnt do it you may have to go to the intel site and play with a differant storage controller version

    Open a command prompt
type powercfg -lastwake to see what woke it up (sometimes not very useful)
type powercfg -devicequery wake_armed to see what devices are able to wake the system
type powercfg /? for other options including disabling devices from waking the system.

Make sure you include at least one space after powercfg and before any switches/options. If you run them together, that will give that message.

Wouldn't you prefer to Hibernate it?

That way your system will power off completely but will go back to exactly where you left off MUCH quicker than restarting.

Right. You need to run an elevated Command Prompt.

To do this click on Start Button then Accessories the RIGHT CLICK Command Prompt and left click Run As Administrator.

When the black Command Prompt window opens type

    powercfg /hibernate on

Now see if Hibernate appears on the list of shutdown options to which you refer.

If not don't worry - there's more we can do to enable it
