So a few weeks ago this wasn't a problem. I have a favorite long, 4 ft usb charger that I would use to plug in my xbox one controller to my pc to play some games. Recently, it just stopped working. When I plug my controller into my pc, it shakes for a second, but doesn't light up. I then get a prompt telling me that it can't recognize the usb device. I have tried uninstalling the device via device manager, I've tried downloading new drivers for the xbox one controller online, but nothing seems to do the trick. Just tonight I decided to try my ps4 controller on it, and that didn't seem to work either, but I didn't get the error message that I usually get with the xbox one controller. I've heard that I need a "data sync cable" or something like that, but it was working perfectly fine until a couple weeks ago. I don't want to buy a wired xbox 360 controller either if I don't have to, but that would probably be my next step if I can't find a solution.
