    i have a 56xmtrp xperts micro computer which is very old .when i run the c drive i hear a fan running loud.and my cd gets hot.

    It might be that one of your fans are failing. Open up the side of the computer and see if all the fans are spinning fast and that they are clean. You can use a can of compressed air to blow out any dust. Don't forget to check the fan in the back of the Powersupply as well.

    If your computer supports it you may be able to check the temperatures in the BIOS setup under Power or health options. You can also install a program called Speedfan to monitor the temps and voltages from Windows: http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
