    I need to know how to find the autoexec.bat file in windows xp.

    It's located directly in the C: folder, i.e., main root of your computer.

    If you can't see it, it's because your folder options are set so you can't see hidden files. To show them, go to control panel and click on the "folder options" applet. Click on the "view" tab, and (1) put a check-mark next to "display the contents of system folders," (2) choose "show hidden files and folders," (3) UNcheck "hide extensions for known file types" and "hide protected operating system files." Click "apply," then "ok." You should now be able to see the autoexec.bat file.
