Basically my original ps4s hard drive is stuffed and I need a new one, can I buy any 2.5-inch SATA HDD or does it have to met other requirements for it too work. my old hard drive is a 500gb, 5400rpm, sata 3.0Gb/s which I'm guessing is sata 2 but I'm looking at ones for sale which have they same specs but say sata 3, don't know if they will work or not? please help

A SATA3 drive should work in a device which has a SATA2 drive and controller.
It will be backwards compatible and work at SATA2 speed.
One that is 2 TB - 4 TB capacity should suffice for your needs.
