confussed about memory

    i just bought some sdram taht was pc 133 and my mobo calls for pc 100. i installed the new memory and nothing showed up. what can i do?:confused: :confused:

    Either it is incompatible in another way, or not installed correctly.
    PC133 should work on a PC100 mobo, but it will run at the slower speed.

    Are you trying to use both the old and new ram together?

    Memory can be very finicky. Different brand sometimes don't work together.

    Try using the just the new memory. If it still doesn't work, then you may have gotten the wrong type.

    Also, cheap generic ram tends to have compatibility problems too.

    Did you go to www.crucial.com to double check what type of ram you need?

    Having worked at a national big box store that sells pc's, I think you should be able to return the memory without a big problem. You can even ask the techs there what memory you should buy. Find out what motherboard you have and write it down to show them. They should be able to look up what memory is compatible.
