Hi guys,

I’ve currently finally got my newly built PC to display to my monitor however I am getting a display that reads “please power down and connect the PCIe power cables for this graphics card”, however I am pretty sure I have got them connected properly. I am upgrading so I am using an older corsair RM750 psu and using the extension cables that came with the gpu in the box to adapt to the 8 pin connector. My parts are:

Ryzen 5 3600X
B450 tomahawk max
16gb corsair vengeance RAM
500gb SSD
GeForce GTX 1660 Super

Why are you using the adapter? Doesn't your power supply already have PCIE power cables?

I have the following:
  • Corsair RM750i power supply.
  • ASUS ROG-STRIX-GTX1060-A6G-GAMING
I used the PCIE power cable that came with the power supply and plugged it into the graphics card.
