connect VCR to HD tv

    I want to connect vcr to HD tv so as to be able to record HD tv as well as digital tv
    Ican do it on a second TV using a HD set top box
    attached are rear panel diagrams
    can you please help

    The video and audio inputs/outputs are irrelevant. You need the actual cable signal going into the VCR. I'm surprised you got this working with another set-top box. Obviously you aren't really recording HD quality on a VHS tape. It's probably encrypted as well, so I doubt you'd be able to capture the signal on a VCR.
