Hope someone can help me with this one.

I have a Thomson ST585 (v6) wireless router. It shows as being available when I open 'View available network connections'. When I click on it the connecting animation plays. However, afterwards the display next the star says connected, while the main message in the box says my laptop is not connected! A red 'x' also remains on the wireless image in the taskbar.

Disable encryption on the router and try to connect. If successful you can re-enable encryption and reconnect. If unsuccessful please show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Also, ipv6 isn't helping you and could be hurting, so ...

Start - Run - ipv6 uninstall - OK
