connected to wirless but no internet access

    Hello;
    I hope someone can help me. I have windows vista os on my laptop and I am conected to the wireless it sais that it has excelent signal but when I try to access the internet a messege pops up that sais that I am connected to wireles but have no internet acess.

    On a wireless connection, getting an APIPA address generally means that either you have your encryption keys mismatched or your have MAC address filtering enabled.

    You likely don't need the stack repairs, but it won't hurt anything. The encryption key is a far more likely culprit.

    how would I know what the encription key is or if I got it wrong? there is this one key I had to type to connect to the wireless and it is the same one I used for other laptops and it worked just fine but it is not working on this one?

    An easy test is to see if a wired connection works. If not, you have a general stack issue.

    Note that WEP may be problematic on some hardware/wireless drivers and Vista.
