Hello,
I'm overwhelmed with possible awkward wire combinations and terminology. I'd like to fins a simple/cheap way to use my computer monitor for the computer and also to watch cable TV through the cable coaxial cable. Is it possible? Thanks in advance.

If I understand you correctly, it is possible but you will need a TV Card to insert into your computer. These can be picked up from Amazon or other big retailers.

You can then use a program such as Win7 TV, this also needs to be bought. This will scan your connection for the various channels coming through cable and give you a list of channels to choose from.

Being as you are on cable, I am assuming American and so things may work differently to here in the UK. I have a system like this myself, I recommend it and I paid around £75 for the software the TV card.

You can watch Live TV with your Windows Media Center. Providing you have a TV tuner and proper configuration
