Hi I have one PC, and 3 different laptops all hooked up to a LAN, and also use it to connect my phone as wifi. All this works great, but I recently purchased an old toshiba laptop, and I cannot connect it. I have tried connecting to a network and the box was all gray with no selectable options. When I tried to connect to a local area connection, it said my network cable was unplugged. I am not sure what to do to. Any help would be appreciated.

Operating system is windows xp. I double clicked "wireless network connection" in the bottom right of the screen (it was currently telling me connection was unavailable) and there no clickable options.

What is listed in Device Manager under Network Adapters? What, if any, warnings or errors are anywhere in Device Manager?

If the laptop includes an integrated wireless adapter is the wireless switched on?
