I need to connect my router to the computer and we have wireless Internet, So that my son can use his Xbox to go Live(online). We do have an Ethernet card. We have tries usinga wireless router before and we were never able to get it configured right. This Router is wired, we don't know anything other than that so any advice anyone can give me would be very appreciated.
Thank you

alright, so you as I understand you are using a non wireless enabled router right now.

What you need to do is this:

Connect cable modem/dsl modem to the router with a cat 5 (thats the ethernet cable) to the internet port on the router.

To computer one, run a cat 5 cable from the first plug (it should say 1) to the ethernet card on your computer.

To get the xbox working with wired. You will do the same. Run a cable from port 2 (plug 2) to the xbox's built int wired connection. I believe on the xbox live account you might have to say that you behind a router...*not absolutely positive on this aspect since I've never owned a xbox, nor set one up for xbox live access.*

That should allow you both to have the internet.

Explain exactly what kind of ISP you have, and what receiving equipment they provide.
