I have a laptop running XP. It has a VGA port to support a second monitor. I have a VGA to HDMI adapter, and have connected it to my Samsung TV. However, I have been unsuccessful in extending my desktop to display on the TV. May need a driver? Please help..

Hi mgeoffroy14, and welcome to TSG.

Can you please provide details about your VGA to HDMI adapter, such as the manufacturer's name and exact model number of the device. If you purchased it online it might help us if you gave us a link to the seller's product page. Converting VGA signals to HDMI signals requires the use of active electronics and a power source.
