Hello, I am currently running my internet using the work connection I have in my home. I want to be able to play online shooters, CounterStrike, Deus Ex..... Now it doesn't show any servers since I have this work connection...I downloaded GameSpy about 30 mins ago and as it was loading up, it said something about a firewall was stopping me from using GameSpy properly.

Am I looking in the right place? And if so, I went to inbound and outbound rules nd that looked like maybe it might have something to do with it.

Thank you very much in advance for any information!

Did you ever used Windows Firewall with Advanced Security ( your screenshot ) to configure anything? If you haven't touched it before then the problem is not there. Please explain what 'work connection' is. What 'work connection' means to me is a VPN connection that puts you inside a company's network so you can access MS Exchange servers, Sharepoint servers, as if you were in the office.

My work connection meaning the company I work for. They have put their line into my home and I access the internet through that line. See, I can download media etc no problem but connecting to online gaming servers is imossible.

I have not used the firewall setting manually. Anything that is configured atm, has been done automatically! But, then again, I have just bought this laptop. But that's by-the-by, because I have 3 other computers, all using the same line (company), which do not connect to gaming servers. So one has to believe it is the settings that the company have used. (Obviously i'm guessing that companies use extra security, and that they block certain things??)

Thank you in advance for any information!

sorry, this comes under the bypassing company restriction rules

Your IP address tells me that it is a company line that would have business restrictions set up on it. The ISP that has that IP numbber allocated ONLY do business lines & as part of that set up always block certain protocols & traffic
