Connection Issues

    Hi everyone,

    I am currently running my own game client/server I setup the server for the client to connect to my IP address but the client won't connect to my IP.

    The Client says "server is down" I currently have a BT Home Hub which two computers connect to.

    I have tried disabling my Firewall in my HUB but my IP just does not respond.

    Anyone more experienced in this field?

    EDITED: Also from what I just noticed I reset my HUB to default factory settings and went on www.ipchicken.com and my IP had changed.

    No mention of a router. Usually you only get one ip address from the ISP. Usually you would not get two pcs on the net via a hub unless the isp gives you two ips.

    If you are just trying to connect to your server, and the above is all true then...

    1. bring up the server so it gets the isp ip address
    2. configure your workstation to be in the same subnet as that ip [static ip]

    now you should be able to get to your server via the workstation.
