Constantly have to restart modem/router for internet to work

    Lately my internet has been going out on all platforms. My laptop, my phone, ROKU player, etc... I go downstairs and unplug the cable modem, unplug the wireless router, and plug them both back in. After this, the internet begins working again. However, this is now happening multiple times a day. What is the problem/solution?

    Are the devices losing connection to the router?

    Or is the router losing connection to the modem?

    Or is the modem losing connection to the ISP?

    Kinda difficult to tell what the solution is without knowing more about where the problem lies.

    When you lose connection, does the network icon show a red x?

    When it goes down, on your laptop, do a IPCONFIG/ALL in Command Prompt to see if your Wireless Connection has an IP address.
