    Hiya,

My SO wants to buy his friend a digital camera and a continuous tone printer for his birthday but can't find photo papaer without the perforated edges you have to tear off.

Does anyone out there make paper for these printes that aren't perforated? It's driving him up a wall and he claimes his friend would be annoied by the edges, especally since these pics will go into albums more then into frames.

Thanks for any and all help!!!!!!! :)

"...A dye-sub photo printer uses thermal transfer technology - i.e. heat distribution - to apply colour in appealing continuous tones into special absorbant photo printer paper. Dye-sub photo printers are dedicated models manufactured to produce gloss prints that feel and look photo-realistic, right down to the texture and light reflections..."

"...Dye-sub photo printers are a fantastic solution for portable use, ingeniusly compact as they are, they're also ideal for both photo novice and professional, almost entirely "idiot-proof". There are size limitations with dye-sub photo printers, usually retaining a traditional 4x6 size frame, though dye-sub photo printers can print a traditional 4"x6" photo in around 90 seconds, which more than makes up for it - there's not even an hour wait, as there are with high-street photo developers..."

They are also waterproof and make better quality prints then the typical inkjet.

Thanks for the link, now I know what you are talking about :)

Is this type of printer wanted because of it's size, or for some other feature ?

It apears that all the paper for the listed brands at that site are perforated as that is the method used to feed the paper through the small printer.

Having said that, I'll say that Office Depot sells 4"x6" Photo Paper, non perforated , in 30 or 100 packs.

HERE is a link to the page, last one listed.
