I have been using Contribute 2 successfully for a couple of years but since upgrading to windows explorer 7 I cannot access Contribute. I get the message that Contribute has experienced a problem and needs to close. I have tried reinstalling Contribute but with no success.

I know IE7 breaks the saved FTP login details in Dreamweaver 8, this sounds like something similar.
Have you updated Contribute to v2.01?

Have found the solution:
Issue
After you install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, Contribute won't start and returns the error message, "Contribute.exe - Entry Point not Found - The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL."

Reason
The PSAPI.DLL file included with Contribute 3.x and Contribute 4 does not work with Internet Explorer 7.

Solution
Either rename the PSAPI.DLL file included with Contribute 3.x and 4 or remove Internet Explorer 7.

To rename the PSAPI.DLL file:

Navigate to the Contribute installation folder at C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Contribute 3.
Rename PSAPI.DLL to PSAPI.DLL_OLD.
Restart your system and verify that you are now able to log into Contribute.
This also works with Explorer 2
