    Welcome to the forum

There may be an easier way to fix this problem than mine, but off hand I can think of two things to try. First, in the control panel you have the option to install and reinstall windows apps. I havent looked, but am wondering if you can uninstall and reinstall task manager using this function.

The other route is to use your installation disk. Put it in the cdrom, reboot and wait for the prompt - hit any key to boot from CD. Then it goes into a mode where it reloads drivers, and then asks you if you want to reinstall or repair. You can try the repair option. Do you have the emergency recovery disk? Try the first option because it has the potential to be the easiest...doc

Hrm... Can you get to control pannel in safe mode?

And to try the above suggestions... You may still be able to access the addremove programs. Try running "control appwiz.cpl"... Does that open addremove? Or try just running "control". That may open the control pannel (depending on whats broken)
