I also know I have successfully installed Java Version 7, Update 75 and it successfully runs in Chrome, but if I try to verify it in IE 9.0 it tells me it is unable to verify the version. Thank you for your quick reply. My answers are as follows:

    2. Full Model is Dell T1500 workstation
    3. We ordered the T1500 workstations in 2011 and had them ship without an OS. We installed Windows 7 Enterprise and the machine has not been reloaded since.
    4. See my answer #5, as the error is occurring in several different ways.
    5. This problem started in the last two weeks after allowing an upgrade of Java. I originally started by using System Restore to roll back to when it was working but that did not fix the issue. I have completely uninstalled Java and re-installed version 8, Update 40. I still continued to have problems so again uninstalled it (using Revo Uninstaller Pro) and this time installed Java Version 7, Update 75. Every time when I try to verify Java in Internet Explorer 9.0, Java says that it is unable to verify. When I use Chrome Version 41.0.2272.101, it successfully verifies Java as Version 7.0, Update 75.

If I try to open IE 9, and then try to go to a page that requires Java (I have been using http://www.adobe.com/products/flash.html) and at that point I get an error that says Internet Explorer has stopped working and the details are as follows:
    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: iexplore.exe
    Application Version: 9.0.8112.16633
    Application Timestamp: 54e8be59
    Fault Module Name: StackHash_00b1
    Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.18247
    Fault Module Timestamp: 521ea91c
    Exception Code: c0000374
    Exception Offset: 000c3873
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.4
    Locale ID: 1033
    Additional Information 1: 00b1
    Additional Information 2: 00b1e95e0ee62fb2cbe892334a6ceb21
    Additional Information 3: 638c
    Additional Information 4: 638cea13c9ef82c5355539b0b70b836d

I also can no longer access Control Panel - System. Every time I try to access this (either through Control Panel - System or through My Comupter, Properties...it throws the error "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and the problem details are as follows:
    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: explorer.exe
    Application Version: 6.1.7601.17567
    Application Timestamp: 4d6727a7
    Fault Module Name: StackHash_9038
    Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.18247
    Fault Module Timestamp: 521ea91c
    Exception Code: c0000374
    Exception Offset: 000c3873
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.4
    Locale ID: 1033
    Additional Information 1: 9038
    Additional Information 2: 9038970aa2faae7bd8319974d3df268c
    Additional Information 3: b13f
    Additional Information 4: b13f6d12af9bd5a4ea54a0bb5a0d7ee6

I have also tried adding a system environment variable as recommended by another tech. Variable added was _JAVA_OPTIONS with a value of -Xmx256M.

I also ran a custom scan of my machine using MalewareBytes and it detected 4 items and removed them. The items found and removed were Trojan.Agent.ED; PUP.Optional.OpenCandy, and two Rogue.Multiple files.

    Nothing has corrected the situations.

Before we proceed to attempt to solve the problem, my understanding of Windows 7 Enterprise is this
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/enterprise/products-and-technologies/windows-7/default.aspx

It is not available, as a properly licensed edition of Windows 7 to the normal user. It was as the link indicates obtainable through the software assurance scheme to the volume license holder.

I am not suggesting that you have installed other than fully licensed software for use on the computer but could you confirm please the source of the windows 7 installation media

I am part of a company that is a Microsoft Partner - Silver Competency and this computer is used in our workplace. The license is part of our company benefits as a Microsoft Partner and the license was legitimately installed on this machine.

I think you should address this issue with your IT person.
