Unable to open the program "Add/Remove programs" from Control Panel. Am trying to remove unused programs and fee uo hard disk space.

    What happens?

Occasionally, a poorly designed installer makes an incorrect entry in Add/Remove and prevents it from working properly. It could also be malware. Sometimes those entries appear as blank space if it does open.

Most programs don't use much disk space. Exceptions include anything that requires a lot of data, such as language lessons, maps, and that sort of thing. Chances are that the most space is used elsewhere.

Hopefully, you have it all backed up for when the drive fails.

These can help track down used space:

These will allow you to visualize your disk space usage:

    Disk Space Fan
    Visual Disk
    Disk Pie
    Directory Size Calculator

    Alternatives to Add/Remove:

Comodo Program Manager (removes programs and all remnants. Future installations are monitored so they can be completely removed, restored if uninstalled by mistake, or even restored to a new machine)
Ashampoo Magical Uninstaller (Records changes made to system during new installations)
    Revo Uninstaller
    Fine Uninstaller
    Handy Uninstaller

is the "Add/Remove programs" not showing in Control Panel

"Add/Remove programs" is opening from Control Panel but stops at "Please wait while the list is being populated"?
