Hey guys! I just got a cable modem for me and 3 other computers. How can I control the bandwidth that each computer gets? and ideas?

Controlling bandwidth is not a trivial matter. You would likely need a proxy server of some sort with software that would not be cheap.

If you had a DSL/cable router, you could restrict the times that other computers in your network can access the Internet. So if you had a large file to download you could lock out the other computers and have the entire bandwidth to yourself.

But as far as giving everyone a specific chunk of bandwidth, this needs a dedicated process which can handle all Internet traffic and effectively delay certain responses by giving out priorities. Like I said, this is not something you can do by downloading a shareware program from the Internet.
