I've just upgraded a win98 system to XP Home (+SP2) retail. Before activating I would like to make some additions and alterations to the hardware. I gather I have 30 days to activate - incidentally, is there any way to verify time remaining?.
One of the first alterations, I would like, is to convert Fat32 to NTFS. The FAT32 system seems to have a cluster size of 32K. I've searched the web for guidance and there seems to be some necessity for realigning the Fat32 system to a boundary in order to get the NTFS cluster size to its max value.
I would be grateful for any advice on the best software for the realigning the Fat32 before using the XP utility "convert".
EDIT nvm I've decided to go ahead with the conversion anyway.
