Windows xp home ed. I have avg virus protection. But I keep getting cookie viruses which are giving me fits. Other than disabaling cookies is there anything I can do?

Cookie viruses? What makes you think that? Are they showing up in Anti-virus scans or in Anti-Spyware scans and what are the scans reporting?
Need more info before advising you.
