    Hi folks

I had CoolWebSearch spyware on my laptop, which I removed with the help of TSG (thanks Cheeseball).

However, I can not connect to internet via IE or Firefox and can't download email using OE, and I suspect that CWS has something to do with it.

I can dialup successfully from my laptop, but when I try connecting using IE etc, I get an error message saying can not find server. Same with OE.

I have run Ispfix and WinsockxpFix but still have the problem.

I can connect to the internet and download email using my desktop computer, so it is not my service provider that is the problem.

Here is my latest HiJackThis log. Anything strike you as out of the ordinary? Any other suggestions?? This is quite urgent.

    Thanks
    Landrover

    C:\Program Files\Aluria Security Center\SecurityCenter.exe

BUT why have you got 2 av's and 2 firewalls

    Trend & aluria

actaully it looks like 3 firewalls

    trend and aluria and authentium

    Hi Derek

You were spot on - Thanks! I uninstalled Aluria Security Centre (Spyware Eliminator) and I am now sending this reply from my laptop, so it's working.

I had so many AV and firewalls because I downloaded one after the other in my frantic attempts to get rid of CWS.

I will set Trend Micro as my Firewall, and keep spyware Blaster for extra protection.

    Cheers
