I copy several songs from the Music CD to my hard drive. When I try to run it from the hard drive Winamp would not play it. The file extension remains the same after the transfer, however, it will not work.

Please let me know what third party software can I use to make this conversion.

    Thank you in advance.

Charlton I have Winamp player & it has no music ripper on it. However it will play your CD tracks, but not rip them to MP3's....not unless you have a special plugin. If thats what it is ... let me know so I can further look into it.

As far as I know Winamp doesnt rip CDs to WAV or MP3 format. I use Music Match Jukebox to rip from CD. I found this is the best way to convert my CDs to MP3 or WAV format. Check out download.com for Music Match Jukebox.

Sure you can get the plug in from winamp.com to rip the songs thru winamp.

If you really want the best quality though you need to use Exact Audio Copy http://www.exactaudiocopy.de . It wont make all those pops and crackling sound like the others do. Then go here http://users.belgacom.net/gc247244/index.html and get the w32lame encoder (click on news and then download it from there).

If you just want the easiest one with good results I would have to sugest Ultimate Encoder at http://www.usro.net/products/uencoder/ . I think it has some kind of time limit before you have to buy it, but theres always ways around that.
