I hope someone can help. This is driving me nuts.

I want to select and copy groups of cells and paste them into something else (final destination actually a page of a blog). I want to take the gridlines and the general appearnce with it.

I am highlighting, either Ctr + C, followed by Ctr + V, or via the edit dropdown.

ONCE it came out right, all other times I just get cell contents.

    Please help!!!!

Well, a lot depends on what you are using besides Excel. You could copy your data into a new workbook, format the gridlines and save it alone as a web page in Excel.
But I suspect that you want to do something more than that.

You need to look into how your blog works. This isn't an Excel issue, it's a blog issue. What are you using? WordPress? Nucleus? They have their own help forums, which you might be better off checking out. Or you could post a picture (easiest).

Trying to post in Wordpress, self hosted. But it's just the same if i paste into Word, which i tried just for curiosity really. It came right just the once, the rest of the time it was just text, although still in quite neat columns.

I think it's something to do with the copy function...."paste special" seems to be only for pasting in Excel.

I would also like an easy way to make these little tables into jpg files, they carry a lot of html baggage into the blog.

These are trading results of currency trades, so there will be one every weekday, so are going to mount up.

I will try and send some files etc tomorrow.

Thanks for trying to help. I've tried Excel help, and Wordpress, but so difficult to search and find what you want. And you guys are so knowledgeable....

Is it HTML? If so, try Colo's HTML Maker. See here: http://puremis.net/excel/htmlmaker_faq.shtml

If you're using version 2007, I do have a prototype I've been working on, but progress on it has been halted due to a busy schedule. It does work for me, but I haven't thoroughly tested it. I can make it available on request, but you'd need to report any bugs to me.

It shouldn't be rocket science. The guy I am doing the blog for can copy and paste without any problem. I've only succeeded the once. There must just be something in the copy function. Why on earth should I be able to paste the cells into Word neatly once, but not consistently. Crazy.

Yes, I can see the html code in html view in the blog. But it would take forever to edit that code every time I add a new table. Just want to paste into visual and go!

If you save the Excel table as HTML, it creates a table using HTML code. You could just copy and paste that into the blog's code.
