I've just purchased a 1.5 TB external hard drive and I'm wanting to transfer the data from two external hard drives (300GB and 500GB) onto the new one.

How do I copy the contents over to the new external hard drive?

Connect them both to a computer, and copy and paste the files from one to the other.

There are three drives involved here, but the principle is the same.
If you have sufficient USB ports you can connect all three and copy/paste, or just do one at a time if necessary.
