If you can successfully ping could you still have a corrupted TCP/IP? Or does good loopback ping = good TCP/IP?

Does corrupted winsock or winsock2 only affect dial up networking or does it affect broadband as well?

it will affect both, what is the issue you are getting, tcp/ip could be corrupted and still ping loopback that is really only to test make sure that the card is working personally i never use it due to the fact that i think it is useless to me

but hwat is the issue you are experiencing ??
what you can't get to web site on your dsl but you can on your dial up...???

Loopback IP doesn't necessarily mean a good TCP/IP installation, though it's usually a fair indication. You should also be able to successfully ping your own IP address.

I second the request, you need to describe what issue you have if you want some intelligent answers. :)
