Hi guys, I have a .docx file that is corrupted and won't open. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I've tried thus far:

    Repair via Office 2007
Recover text from any file addin for Office 2007
Renaming to .txt, .wpd, .doc, .zip
Opening with wordpad, notepad, firefox, numerous other programs
Numerous online and offline recovery tools
    Compressing to .zip

I can't even send it to anyone, as it's too corrupted to send, print or open.

    Any thoughts?

have you tried opening it with the latest version of open office? I know that's fixed a lot of MS files for me, primarily .ppt, but on occasion .docx files as well.

Nope, it wouldn't even respond when attempting to open that .docx file.

can you upload it here? just remember that this is a public site, and if contains confidential info, you may not want to.

It's a copy of all of my passwords. It was kept on a flash drive in a drawer. My version of the written version. Someone would need to physically have it to have my info.

That being said, it wouldn't upload if I tried.

if it was on a flash drive, it's most likely toast, and you may have to recreate it. You can google for some data recovery apps, but not entirely sure how well they will work on a flash drive.

Most of such apps provide their demo version. Thus, before risking your data, I'll advice you to try them.
