When I try to empty my recycle bin, I receive an error message telling me that "Cannot delete desktop. The file is corrupted and unreadable."

I have tried several of the suggestions in this and other threads. I went to the command line and removed attributes and tried to delete the recycler file. I downloaded and ran restorerecycler.reg, I tried opening in the safe mode. Along with this, I have gotten error messages regarding a volume information which apparently is a Symantic file.

I went to the files option and allowed system files to be viewed and hidden files to be viewed. However, when I started in the safe mode, I could not find the recycler file that was found exploring in the regular mode using WindowsExplorer/rightclick/explore option.

I tried using both the MoveonBoot and Unlocker to delete files in the recycler file. I think I was able to delete the actual files, although the long registry file names reappears even after being deleted.

In the end, I do not know if the Recycle Bin is corrupt or something else is, namely the Volume Information. The file is "System Volume Information \efaData\SYMEFA,DB-journal. I have run chkdsk /r twice to no avail.

Any thoughts about where I go from here?
