Could My Motherboard Be Messing With My Hard Drive??

    I've come across this problem about 3 times in 1 year....it seems that one particular motherboard that I have just chews up my HDDs!! is this possible....I would alwys get the Unmountable Boot Volume BSOD after a few monbths of use with this Motherboard....It's an MSI P4M800 Series board...Has anyone ever heard of a prblem like this one??:confused:

    I guess it could be possible. Never heard of a similar situation though.
    Does the MB have the latest BIOS and drivers?
    Could possibly be an overheating issue with the specific computer case not having enough ventilation.

    I suppose if the IDE controller on the motherboard is somehow corrupting your HDD...I suppose it's possible, but I'm not sure I can recall a time where I've seen it happen. You'd probably have to test out each component separately to figure out where the fault lies.

    More likely the psu is killing the drive with irradic power.
