I am having a problem with adding a network printer to WIN2K computers on a Novell network. The computer sees the printer just fine but it gives the message "Could Not Communicate with Printer" when trying to add it. It is only one printer that is giving problems and other operating systems (XP for example) do not have this problem. I can add the printer by using the IP address of the printer, but this is more of a patch than an actually fix. The computers with the problem are all Compaq Evo P4s running WIN2K. The printer is an HP5Si.
Any ideas what the problem might be?

    Welcome to TSG!!

Since you can set the printer up using the ip address, it sounds like the name is not resolved.

What happens when you ping the printer name?
