After finally acquiring a webcam & getting Yahoos' Instant Messenger downloaded, I attempt to seek out other life forms in the vain hope of getting to use my new equipment. Alas, after three weeks, I'm still plugging away like the mad 'one fingered wonder' that I am when, Lo & Behold, I arrive home from work one night to discern that Messenger will not open any longer. Well, "No problem" says I, to no one in particular, as I remove the entire program & commence to download it again (for fear that the original had been corrupted). However, when I attempt to open the file for IM after having saved it to disk, it displays a warning which plainly reads : could not load the DLL library. the specified module could not be found.
So my question is; Would someone please enlighten me to what I have done to cause this so that I can take (pro)active measures to prevent this (or something just like it) from occurring again? Much Thanx from the lone fellow in aisle two with the egg on his face:eek:

Are you still having this problem? If so, when you uninstall it, delete the folder for it under C;\Program Files in Windows Explorer.

Then, restart and try the download again.

If still no joy, Lets take a look at a log. go to http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Also, did you download the Beta version, or the previous version:
