This just recently happened. Never before. Was on the computer, suddenly screen went blank, kicked into standby, from green to yellow light. I have a HP pavilion MX 75. Tried to turn on the screen again, kept going into standby. Checked the monitor, was on. Noticed my mouse and keyboard were not lit. Have a HP computer 760n with lighted mouse and keyboard. Well, since I could not shut down the computer using the screen, keyboard, mouse whatever, I went to the on button in the front. pushed the button and it didn't shut off. Held button in for 20 seconds, still nothing. Got sick and tired of trying to shut the computer down so I unplugged it. Waited for 20 seconds, plugged it in and its working perfect ever since. I use a battery backup. Am not too worried about it but would like to know if there is another way to shut off the computer (hp) don't feel like making a phone call and trying to figure out what they are saying and in which language. It normally turns on with the button in the front of the computer but shuts down by mouse and monitor.
