i get this weird message during CS play on XP pro. I'm up to date on all the cs patches and everything. I got all my drivers up to date. Its modem related i'm almost positive. It crashes CS and disconnects my dialup modem. It never used to give this message when i ran win98se. For some reason xp gives me this error instead of letting my modem lag for a few seconds without sending/receiving info. I got used to pauses everyonce in a while on 98, but when i went to xp, it wont let my modem pause, it just disconnects it and crashes CS. Anyone know how i can stop cs from disconnecting my internet or xp popping up these error messages.

    sys specs:
    Zoom v.92 usb fax modem
    athlon xp 2200+
    SB audigy gamer
    gf2 ultra
    win xp sp1
    512 ram
anymore info that someoen would need to help me with this problem just post and i'll find it out for you, this is all i can think of at the moment.
    Thanks

well, i talked to a friend and he gave me a good suggestion that did help somewhat, not much but some. I was told to put this string in my modem initilazation line, ATS10=255 which means never disconnect modem because of line noise. Now i dont disconnect right away liek before, it just lags me and lets me go back to playing after a while. I still get the problem though sometimes. It has reduced it though by about half. What i'm wondering is if our ISPs think were not using our internet so they boot us off when were on CS because of the way XP sends info. Not for sure if this could be it but i've heard that idea flung around a lot. I've also talked to a guy who works at an ISP and does lots of work with connections and servers and that stuff. He is stumped and figures its just a conflict with xp and cs and that valve will be really the only ones who can fix it cuz its actually in their programming, dunno. I'll check back ehre again though if anyone has any ideas.
