Hi, I recently bought Couter-Strike Source and it lags terribly, I've turned down all the graphics as much as possible and it still lags, even when I play offline with bots, it's still not very good. I think my computer should be able to handle it, it's a Gateway CX210S. I've also tried adjusting the update rate though the console, but it doesn't work, then again, I'm still not sure how that works. Also, I've had some occasional problems with my ping being too high, and from what I've gathered, that deals with my internet connection, is there something I can do to fix that as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Ok, I went ahead and did dxdiag to get my computer specs, that probably would help a great deal . . .

You likely cant change your ping time very much as that has more to do with your physical internet connection (phone lines, providers equipment and distance to your home, etc.). The further away the server where you are playing the game, the longer it takes for your info to go back and forth (ping). If you could find a closer server, your ping may decrease.

You are also playing on a laptop which will hinder your performance without a video card.
