    hi all

when i right click my mouse on files/folders sometimes the list takes ages to appear on screen? i also opened up the perfomance tab in task master and it showed me that as soon as i right click my mouse the CPU instantly hits 100% and stays there, causing my pointer to go extremely sluggish?

    any idea's why?

in case you need to know, my system specification is.....

    Advent 3215
    2.66 P4
    1024Mb RAM 333MHz
    2 X 120Gb hard drives
    128Mb MX440 Graphics card
    17" Hercules TFT (refresh rate @ 75)

Could be viral so please post your Hijack This log. I see you've done that in the past so you may still have it on your computer but it's an older version. Please go to the following link, download the lastest version which is v1.97.7 and then post the scan log for analysis.

ouch. that is naaaaasty. you got so much cpu power and it lags hardcore? i only have 400mghz and its always performing fine and dandy. lol :p

anyway. i'd go about this the same way i about many things.

run msconfig, and make sure NOTHING that is not supposed to startup on boot is selected. heck, if you don't have an antivirus, or a firewall, you could probably uncheck everything! (from the startup tab btw)

then i'd reboot and see how things are going. ctrl-alt-del and see if things that shouldn't be running...are running. then do a search on them to see where they are and if you know you didn't put it, and you know its not important, delete it. (this is the caveman's way to delete viruses and junk)

oh, and of course, if its still no good. do the obvious.

    virus scan
    adware scan
    spyware scan
    trojan scan
    port scan
    scan everything!

If you don't have a virus I had to hit F10 and do a system rebuild. It worked perfect for My machine.

    HTpatch > htpatch.exe
HTpatch.exe is part of the SiS AGP patch - BUT unless your processor (and motherboard) supports HyperThreading (HT) and this feature is enabled it will actually SLOW your graphics card by around 6%

    Need to remove:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {83DE62E0-5805-11D8-9B25-00E04C60FAF2} - C:\WINDOWS\2_0_1browserhelper2.dll - ClientMan Parasite. Removal instructions included.
