I have an older Pentium 120 MHZ processor. At least 6 or 7 years old. My CPU fan is going Kaput. It makes noise like the bearing or shaft is going.

It has 2 or 3 wires coming off it and going to a four pin plug.

I need suggestions on where, what to buy and how to install.

    Thanks

Try searching the internet for installing or reinstalling a fan for your specific motherboard. www.google.com is a good search site.

Check your system information for your Model Number

Some of the times computer stores around your area may have fans lying around for cheap. Just make sure the voltage is compatible for your motherboard. For more info on this visit the website of your computers manufature.

modern motherboards have a 3 pin plug to connect the fan to the power supply to the fan cable
dell compaq and most of the other named brands use custom 4 pin efforts so that if you have to upgrade you do it through them

you need to talk to a friend who knows about such things i.e a spark and the new fan is really no problem

if you want to do it yourself drop a line and i will talk you through it
