cpu + graphics upgrade question

    currently i am running on a eMachines W3118 AMD Sempron 3100+ 1.8GHz / 1028MB DDR / 80GB+40GB HDD and onboard 6100 graphics.. what can this be upgraded to(cpu/graphics)?
    it has one PCI - E slot and i have a 450W psu.. what can i do with this?

    Problem with eMachines is that they are made as cheap as possible and hardware support is lacking. I don't know where you'd find a list of supported CPU's for an eMachines system. You may have some luck if you identified the motherboard used in the system and Google it. The PCI-Express slot should take any video card, although there may be a compatibility issue with some certain cards - again I doubt there's much documentation. One other thing to note is that some high end cards take up a lot of space and may not physically fit in the case.

    Power supply does need to be replaced and your 450 watt should fit OK in the case and 450 watt is enough to support almost any video card provided it has enough amperage on the 12 volt rail, check the sticker on the side.
