My window98se won't shutdown and locks up. The cpu is always maxed out. It's no long connect to internet but is full of Bugs. I have a exe. called wink* which I can find in using Winpatrol which I think is causing the problem. I can't do a "find" on it. It's located in Window\system folder. About ready to format it.

Run an anti-virus program, download Spybot Search and Destroy (free from the internet) and run it. If you can't do any of these things, then plan of formatting your hard drive and start all over.
Then reinstall all your third party softwares and backup files onto the computer after installing your operating system. Don't forget to install the drivers as well.
