CPU Problem Please

    Hi i have a Asus P8H61-mlx i bought a i5 it and it needs a bios update for it to work so i am going to buy a cheap cpu do do a bios update but i have no idea if this cheap cpu is supported as well here are the links to the support list the cpu im getting too do a bios update is the Intel BX80623G540 G540 2.5Ghz 1155pin Boxed CPU celeron processor and here is the cpu suport list my bios is rev1.0 is that right well it default bios and is this supported

    Are you sure that's even the problem? The BIOS version is generally listed on the packaging or on a sticker on the motherboard. Which i5 processor do you have?

    The G540 requires BIOS 0208 on the Revision 3.0 board which is what you linked too, which is the oldest and likely the very original BIOS for that version. But many boards come with newer BIOS's as they are released. Older revisions have been pulled from the market due to a chipset defect. hopefully you do not have Rev 1.0 board, if you have an older revision you should return it.

    Also, please consider using punctuation in your posts, it's really hard to read without commas and periods.
