I am trying to find a cpu for a pentium 4 478 pin motherboard. The original cpu was a pentium 4 1.5 Ghz....can I use a 1.8Ghz, and does it matter how much cache is on it? THANKS!

    First Name:

The above link will take to to download AIDA32 - once you download, it will tell you the motherboard make/model. Without knowing the exact make/model of your model we cannot tell you with 100% certainity what CPU it will take.

The more cache on the CPU, the faster the system will run - it is one of the differences between a full Pentium and a Celeron.

Further to what Triple6 stated - when you install AIDA32 - click on the desktop shortcut icon > then click System > then Summary. There is a screenshot of a sample 'Summary' on the website linked to above. Take a look and you'll see what sort of info you get.
