    Hi everyone:

Does anybody know of a freeware program that monitors a Compaq Presario 5838 cpu temperature? Motherboard Monitor 5.0 is wonderful but does not work with the 5838 board.

    Thanks a bunch.

If speedfan does not work for you [and mbm also does not work] I think you are out of luck The mgf may have some monitoring software on their site for download.

Another thing to think about is does the Mobo have a cpu temp sensor on it? If you enter your bios it should show you under PC health. If it doesnt have one installed you will not be able to monitor your CPU temp, unless there is some 3rd party software/hardware package you could add.

Also some Mobo's have sensors that are not accessable for monitoring puroses but work to shut the pc down if an overheat situation occurs.
